I don’t think this is something you need to worry about. You don’t have to be an idealist to want the human race to survive in a livable world.
The idealists in the world are the ones who think that everything will be fine here if we just go on living the way we’re living now, and I’m working hard to destroy this idealistic thinking. If we want to survive here, we can’t go on destroying the biological infrastructure we depend on for our very lives—and that’s pure realism, not idealism.
